What is Depression?
What options are there to treat it?
Depression is a psychological (mind) and physiological (body) disorder that causes people to feel widespread sadness, affects thoughts, actions and emotions. It can come with trouble sleeping, or sleeping too much, as well as changes in weight or appetite that feel uncomfortable to the person. At times, depression is quite serious and can lead to suicidal thoughts, or wanting to harm yourself. If this is the case, please seek emergency services.
Whether mild or severe, depression needs professional support. Our therapists are trained in talk based counseling and brain-based therapies to give you lasting relief. Although we do not prescribe medication, we support an individual's right to choose. We work to find you a medication manager (prescriber) if you desire one, or we will work with your existing provider if you have one.
